Now, on the top right corner of your screen, you will see the DM icon.
Then, tap on that icon, and you will see your friends with whom you have texted recently.
Select a friend, and open his/her chatbox.
Now, directly swipe up from the bottom of your screen.
And, Vanish Mode is applied, now all the text messages will be disappeared.

Remember- When you enable Vanish mode your chat background will get in dark mode, and if you also take a screenshot of the chat in Vanish mode the other party will be notified.

Just by swiping up, your Vanish mode will be disabled and again your screen will be in light mode, and all your texts will appear.

Here are the steps-

First of all, go to your Instagram app, and log into your account.
Now, on the top right corner of your screen, you will see the DM icon.
Then, tap on that icon, and you will see your friends with whom you have texted recently.
Select a friend, and open his/her chatbox.
You will the username of your friend on the top of the screen, tap on it.
There, you will see a toggle option toggle it off for turning the vanish mode off.
And, you are done. Now you will be able to see all the disappeared texts.

When Facebook Introduced this feature on Instagram, they said-

“We designed vanish mode with safety and choice in mind, so you control your experience. Only people you’re connected to can use vanish mode with you in chat.Vanish mode is also opt-in, so you choose whether to enter vanish mode with someone. If someone takes a screenshot of your chat while you’re using vanish mode, you’ll be notified. And as always you can block someone and report a conversation if you feel unsafe”.

Can Vanish Mode be Turned On or Off On Instagram Web

Unfortunately, there is no such way to turn on or off the vanish mode from the Instagram web version. But, you can chat with your friends on Instagram in the browser version. First of all, go to the Instagram application and open the DM section.
Now, select and tap the friend to whom you want to report.
Now, you will see the chatbox of that person and on the top, you will see the username of that person.
Tap on that username, you will be directed to a screen, where you will see an option of the Report.
The moment you tap on Report, a pop-up menu will appear from the bottom in which you have to select the reason why are you reporting this person.
Select the appropriate reason and tap on it.
And, you are done reporting a person.

Some Tips to Remember About Vanish Mode

This Vanish Mode has turned off automatically if you leave the chatbox.
This vanish mode cannot be used in the group chat.
If you are chatting with an unknown person, make sure to take a screenshot of the chat before it vanishes.
Vanish mode can only be used on Instagram, not on Meta(Facebook).
After enabling vanish mode, you will not be able to send, copy or forward any message.
You can always block the account if someone is violating the regulations of Instagram.
